Happy Halloween :)

Happy Halloween everybody.

I wish they celbrated Halloween here. I mean they kind of do, but it's not such a big holiday as it is in the US.

Anyway, I found some neat Halloween facts. Thought you guys might like them. Here they are:

 1) All Saints' Day or All Hallow's Eve was and anient Celtic harvest festival. The Irish brought the tradition of lighting candles in turnips on Halloween to keep away the spirits. But since there weren't a lot of turnips in America they started lighting pumpkins instead. Thus the Jack-O-Lantern was born. :)
2) Bobbing for apples was actually done to honor Paomona, the Goddess of Fruit Trees. :)
3) Samheinophobia is a fear of Halloween.
4)  The tradition of Trick or Treating also startedin Ireland, where people would ask for contributions for the Harvest festival.

Well i hope you liked my halloween facts :)

Happy Halloween
